WHITEHALL PHARMACIST RECEIVES AWARD

Stacey L. Uganski of Whitehall, Mich., will receive the 2003 Michigan Pharmacists Association's (MPA) Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award at the association's Annual Convention & Exposition held Feb. 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Mich.
To be eligible for this award that is presented in cooperation with Pharmacists Mutual, a Michigan pharmacist must be licensed to practice for ten years or fewer, be an MPA member and participate in national pharmacy associations, professional programs and/or community service.


Uganski has been a Member of MPA since 1994, and served on the House of Delegates from 1994-1998. She currently sits on the Local Association Development Committee. She has been very active in her local association, the Western Michigan Pharmacy Association, serving as chair, president, president-elect, public relations chair, professional affairs chair, newsletter editor, legislative liaison, delegate and treasurer. She has served her community as the assistant volleyball coach at Muskegon Community College for four years.


Uganski received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ferris State University in 1993. She is currently working for Pitkin Drug and Gift Shoppe, where she is shift manager and part owner along with her sister and father who are also pharmacists.
