QR Code Social Passport Activity
Get to know our Annual Convention exhibitors! Attendees have an opportunity to win prizes by completing our QR Code Social Passport. Participating Annual Convention exhibitors will have a QR code placed at their booth in the Exhibit Hall (Renaissance Ballroom, Level 4). Attendees are encouraged to visit booths to read the codes with their smart phones and engage in conversation with exhibitor representatives to obtain the answers. Answer at least 10 exhibitor questions and be entered into a drawing for various prizes donated by vendors! Exhibit Hall hours are Friday, Feb. 24 from noon-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Answer cards must be received by noon on Saturday, Feb. 25. Read the instructions below for additional details.

RULES

  1. Find the QR code at various booths in the Exhibit Hall (each participating vendor will have one), and decode.
  2. Answer the question that pops up on your smart phone on this answer card by engaging in discussion with a representative at the booth.
  3. When you’ve visited at least 10 booths and answered their questions, drop your answer card off in the drop box outside the Exhibit Hall near the Convention Registration Desk. Cards must be received by noon on Saturday to be eligible for prize drawings.

READING QR CODES

  1. Download a free application on your smart phone at http://www.mobile-barcodes.com/qr-code-software. If you’re using an application search (BlackBerry™ App World, Apple App Store, Android Market) instead of directly accessing this Web site, search for ‘qr code reader.’ Some examples are Scanlife, KAYWA, Upcode and RedLaser.
  2. Use the installed application to scan the QR code by holding the camera still and in the center of the QR code until the image comes into focus.
  3. A message will indicate that the image capture was successful.
  4. The code will produce a question about each participating exhibitor on your phone. Don’t have a smart phone? You are welcome to network and form teams with colleagues to discover the answers!

WIN PRIZES!
Of the cards collected, a drawing for various prizes donated by vendors will take place Saturday at noon. Winners will be posted outside the Exhibit Hall (Renaissance Ballroom, Level 4). Prizes must be picked up during the final hour of the Exhibit Hall on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
