HIV Therapy and the Importance of Adherence (T)

Learning Objectives

At the end of this activity, participants should be able to recognize the different classes of antiretroviral medications and how they inhibit propagation of the virus, define and explain Highly-active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART), identify the seven preferred regimes for treatment of naive patients, as stated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, state the goals of HIV therapy and explain the importance of adherence in relation to HAART.
