Horse Drawn Shuttle Service

With every ferry that pulls into the harbor is a hotel shuttle that transports guests and luggage to the resort. This service is $5, per person, and cash is paid directly to the driver. For special requests please call Mackinac Island Carriage Tours Taxi at (906) 847-3323. This service is not owned, or operated, by Mission Point Resort. The distance between the ferry dock and resort is less than ¾ mile for those who wish to enjoy a leisurely stroll through downtown. Luggage items will still be taken to the resort by the shuttle.

Explanation of Transporting Personal Items

  • Upon arrival to the ferry dock, all vehicles and guests will be greeted by a dock porter
  • Dock porters will unload all luggage items and tag them with a Mission Point tag
  • All luggage items will be loaded onto a cart and the guest will receive luggage claim tickets for all items
  • Upon arrival to the island, the cart with luggage items will be taken to the resort by horse drawn carriage
  • Guests will have the option to walk to the resort or take a horse drawn shuttle service. The distance is approximately ¾ mile
  • Once at the resort, the front desk agent will ask for luggage claim tickets and all luggage will be delivered to your hotel room
  • Upon departure, bellmen will come to the sleeping room to provide outgoing tags (allow at least one hour between baggage pick-up and delivery to the ferry dock – check with the front desk for approximate delivery time).
  • Items will be held on the mainland until they are claimed with the outgoing claim ticket

Participants should also be able to identify areas related to pharmacy that would enhance their professional development, as well as discuss at least one new therapeutic option revealed at this event.

PCE Credit Statement

These activities are structured to meet knowledge-based educational needs and acquires factual knowledge. Information in knowledge-type activities is based on evidence as accepted in the literature by the health care professions. Pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit will be earned based on participation in this activity. Attendance and participation are required before obtaining PCE credit. Any individual who is more than 10 minutes late to an activity or leaves an activity early will not be granted PCE credit. This procedure will be strictly enforced, so please plan accordingly.

These activities are accredited through ACPE for pharmacist and pharmacy technician continuing education credit. If all requirements are met, participants will receive pharmacy continuing education credit in the following manner.

Participants must complete an online activity evaluation and posttest for each activity attended with a passing score of 70 percent or greater by Aug. 31, 2016. Posttests and credit will not be processed until the online evaluation and posttest have officially closed for response on Aug. 31. Please allow MPA three weeks to process and upload credit to CPE Monitor after the posttest has closed. NOTE: ACPE guidelines prohibit MPA from issuing credit more than 60 days after the activity for any reason; therefore, to avoid denial of credit, it is imperative that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians complete the online posttest and evaluation no later than Aug. 31. If all requirements are met, participants will receive pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit in the following manner. Partial credit will not be awarded.

CPE Monitor, a national, collaborative effort by ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed PCE credits, which went into effect on Jan. 1, 2013. MPA, as an ACPE-accredited provider, is required to report pharmacist and pharmacy technician PCE credit using this tracking system. Pharmacist and pharmacy technician participants must provide their NABP e-Profile identification number and date of birth (in MMDD format) when they register for a CPE activity or complete activity evaluations. It will be the responsibility of the participant to provide the correct information (i.e., e-Profile identification number and date of birth in MMDD format). If this information is not correctly provided, NABP and ACPE prohibit MPA from issuing CPE credit. Online access to their inventory of completed credits will allow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to easily monitor their compliance with CPE requirements and print statements of credit. Therefore, MPA will not provide printed statements of credit to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians: If you have yet to sign up for CPE Monitor, go to MyCPEMonitor.net.
