Instruction to Earn Continuing Education Credit

To earn pharmacy continuing education credit, complete the following steps.

1.        Click here to be directed to the MSHP Annual Event page on the Lecture Panda website.

2.        At the MSHP Annual Event page on the Lecture Panda website, set a username and password of your choice and provide your E-profile identification number and date of birth (MMDD format) to access to all program evaluations and posttests.

3.        Complete all evaluations and posttests for programs that you attended and enter the program claim code provided at the end of each program. Upon completion of the evaluations and posttests, credit will automatically be submitted to your CPE Monitor record. You must pass each posttest with a score of 70 percent or greater.

Posttest questions are not applicable to application-based programs; however, evaluations must be completed. For knowledge-based programs in which presenters did not submit posttest questions, attendees will not be penalized. MPA, as an ACPE-accredited provider, is required to report pharmacist and pharmacy technician PCE credit to CPE Monitor. ACPE guidelines prohibit MPA from issuing credit 60 days or more after the activity for any reason; therefore, to avoid denial of credit, it is imperative that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians complete the online evaluations and posttests before Dec. 25. Evaluations and posttests must be completed before Dec. 25, 2017 (60-days post-event). Evaluations and posttests will not be available for completion and requests to process credit will not be accepted after this date.

Handouts

Handouts for each session are also available on Lecture Panda. Once you register on the Lecture Panda site as indicated in Step 2 above, you will have access to all program handouts. Attendees are encouraged to print handouts for reference during sessions as hard copies will not be provided onsite.

Intended Audience

This event was designed specifically for health-system pharmacists, residents, pharmacy technicians and student pharmacists. While a technician-specific track is not being provided, technicians will be able to obtain continuing education credit by attending this event.

PCE Credit Statement

These activities are structured to meet knowledge-based educational needs and acquires factual knowledge. Information in knowledge-type activities is based on evidence as accepted in the literature by the health care professions. Pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit will be earned based on participation in this activity. Attendance and participation are required before obtaining PCE credit. Any individual who is more than 10 minutes late to an activity or leaves an activity early will not be granted PCE credit. This procedure will be strictly enforced, so please plan accordingly.

These activities are accredited through ACPE for pharmacist and pharmacy technician continuing education credit. If all requirements are met, participants will receive pharmacy continuing education credit in the following manner.

Participants must complete an online activity evaluation and posttest for each activity attended with a passing score of 70 percent or greater by Nov. 11, 2016. Posttests and credit will not be processed until the online evaluation and posttest have officially closed for response on Nov. 11. Please allow MPA three weeks to process and upload credit to CPE Monitor after the posttest has closed. NOTE: ACPE guidelines prohibit MPA from issuing credit more than 60 days after the activity for any reason; therefore, to avoid denial of credit, it is imperative that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians complete the online posttest and evaluation no later than Nov. 11. If all requirements are met, participants will receive pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit in the following manner. Partial credit will not be awarded.

CPE Monitor, a national, collaborative effort by ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed PCE credits, which went into effect on Jan. 1, 2013. MPA, as an ACPE-accredited provider, is required to report pharmacist and pharmacy technician PCE credit using this tracking system. Pharmacist and pharmacy technician participants must provide their NABP e-Profile identification number and date of birth (in MMDD format) when they register for a CPE activity or complete activity evaluations. It will be the responsibility of the participant to provide the correct information (i.e., e-Profile identification number and date of birth in MMDD format). If this information is not correctly provided, NABP and ACPE prohibit MPA from issuing CPE credit. Online access to their inventory of completed credits will allow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to easily monitor their compliance with CPE requirements and print statements of credit. Therefore, MPA will not provide printed statements of credit to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians: If you have yet to sign up for CPE Monitor, go to MyCPEMonitor.net.
