There is a recognized need for community pharmacists to improve patient access to care through the use of point-of-care tests. This course provides community pharmacists and members of academia, industry and government with the skills necessary to develop a testing program for influenza, Group A streptococcus, HIV and hepatitis C.

Intended Audience

The target audience for the certificate program is community pharmacy, academia and pharmacy association staff.

Course Description

  • WHO: This course is open to all individuals who have successfully completed the Community-Based Pharmacy Point-of-Care Testing Certificate Program.
  • WHY: In order to host trainings and become a trained trainer, completion of this course is required. Trainers can only host trainings through an organization with an active Registered Provider Agreement with NACDS.
  • HOW: The course's 6 hours of live training will cover history of the program, didactic content, physical assessment, specimen collection, tips for presentation, and next steps to host a training. No CE credit is offered for the Train-the-Trainer Course.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Michigan Pharmacists Association reserves the right to cancel the program if fewer than 10 participants are registered for this program by Sept. 19, 2016. Refunds (minus a $10 administrative fee) will be granted for cancellations received in writing prior to Sept. 19, 2016. Refunds will not be granted to no-shows and cancellations received after Sept. 19, 2016. Requests for refunds due to inclement weather will not be honored.
