Continuing Education Credit and Handouts

PROCESS TO CLAIM CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

MPA is committed to improving the process in which participants claim credit earned, including completion of program evaluations and posttests. We have implemented a product called Lecture Panda that will allow participants to easily complete program evaluations and posttests online.

Instructions

To earn pharmacy continuing education credit, complete the following steps.

  1. Register with Lecture Panda – Prior to the event, you should have registered on the Lecture Panda website for this event by providing your name, e-mail address, NABP E-profile identification number (aka CPE Monitor number) and date of birth (MMDD format).

  • If you have already registered on the Lecture Panda website for this event, move to step 2 below.

  • If you did not register on the Lecture Panda website for this event, you must do that first. To do so, click here, or scan the below QR code with your cell phone or tablet to be directed to the event page on the Lecture Panda website. Upon registering on Lecture Panda, you will receive an e-mail confirming registration with a link to complete credit requirements. This link allows you access to all program handouts, evaluations and posttests. To avoid e-mails going to your spam folder, be sure to set up your e-mail account to allow e-mails from Lecture Panda.

  1. Claim Credit – To complete all evaluations and posttests for programs that you attended and claim credit, refer to the registration confirmation e-mail that you received from Lecture Panda and click on the blue button titled “Complete Credit Requirements.” You will be directed to confirm your name, e-mail address, NABP E-profile identification number and date of birth, then progress to the claim credit screens where you will enter the program claim code provided at the end of each program and complete evaluations and posttests. More information about program claim codes is below. Upon completion of the evaluations and posttests, credit will automatically be submitted to your CPE Monitor record. You must pass each posttest with a score of 70 percent or greater to earn credit.

  2. Overall Event Evaluation – MPA would like to know about your overall experience while attending this event. Please be sure to complete the overall event evaluation on Lecture Panda in addition to program evaluations. Your feedback is used to improve the Convention and other MPA events.

Program Claim Codes

When completing claiming credit in Lecture Panda, you will be required to enter a “claim code” unique to each program. Be sure to pay attention at the end of each program to receive that program’s claim code. Program claim codes will not be provided to participants after participants are released from the program. It is recommended that you keep track of program claim codes by recording them as they are provided during sessions.

Posttest questions are not applicable to application-based programs; however, evaluations must be completed. For knowledge-based programs in which presenters did not submit posttest questions, attendees will not be penalized. MPA, as an ACPE-accredited provider, is required to report pharmacist and pharmacy technician PCE credit to CPE Monitor. ACPE guidelines prohibit MPA from issuing credit 60 days or more after the activity for any reason. Therefore, to avoid denial of credit, it is imperative that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians complete the online evaluations and applicable posttests before April 30, 2019. You will receive periodic e-mails from Lecture Panda reminding you to complete requirements. Due to this new process, participants will not receive an attendance form to record programs attended.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Refunds (minus a $15 administrative fee) will be granted for cancellations received in writing (postmark or fax date) prior to April 10, 2019. Refunds will not be granted to no-shows and cancellations received after April 10, 2019.

CPE Credit Statement

These activities are structured to meet knowledge- and application-based educational needs. A knowledge-based activity acquires factual knowledge. An application-based activity applies to information learned in the timeframe allotted. Information in knowledge- and application-type activities is based on evidence as accepted in the literature by the healthcare professions. Pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit will be earned based on participation in this activity. Any individual who is more than 10 minutes late to an activity or leaves an activity early will not be granted PCE credit. This procedure will be strictly enforced, so please plan accordingly.

Participants must fully participate in the activity and complete the online activity evaluation and posttest questions, if received by presenters, with a passing score of 70 percent or greater before April 30, 2019. Online evaluations and posttests will not be available for completion and requests to process credit will not be accepted after this date. See the program instruction sheet distributed during the activity for the online activity link. Credit will not be processed until the online evaluation and posttest has officially closed for response. Please allow MPA two weeks to process and upload credit to CPE Monitor after the evaluation and posttest has closed. NOTE: ACPE guidelines prohibit MPA from issuing credit more than 60 days after the activity for any reason; therefore, to avoid denial of credit, it is imperative that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians complete the online evaluation by the deadline indicated to allow sufficient time for processing. If all requirements are met, participants will receive pharmacy continuing education (PCE) credit through CPE Monitor, a national, collaborative effort by ACPE and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to track their completed PCE credits. MPA, as an ACPE-accredited provider, is required to report pharmacist and pharmacy technician PCE credit using this tracking system. Pharmacist and pharmacy technician participants must provide their NABP e-Profile identification number and date of birth (in MMDD format) when they complete activity evaluations. It will be the responsibility of the participant to provide the correct information. If this information is not correctly provided, NABP and ACPE prohibit MPA from issuing CPE credit. Online access to their inventory of completed credits will allow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to easily monitor their compliance with CPE requirements and print statements of credit. Therefore, MPA will not provide printed statements of credit to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Partial credit will not be awarded. If you have yet to sign up for CPE Monitor, go to MyCPEMonitor.net.
