As part of membership, MPA provides its members connections with peers who practice in the same area of pharmacy. MPA has three pharmacy practice sections and two affiliated chapters to provide a broader value to members for targeted information and networking. Consultant Pharmacists Society of Michigan (CPSM)

CPSM represents consultant pharmacists, practicing in long-term care and home care in Michigan, as well as nuclear, home infusion and other consultant areas.

The objectives of the Society are:

  • to provide an opportunity to share information and increase communication between consultant pharmacists, other health care professionals and the public.
  • to develop and conduct programs for maintaining and improving the competence of consultant pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other supportive personnel.
  • to disseminate information about pharmaceutical services and rational drug use.
  • to assist members of the Society in achieving economic, educational, governmental and professional goals.
  • to advance the professional image of consultant pharmacists and promote public awareness of the practice of consultant pharmacy.

Michigan Society of Community Pharmacists (MSCP)

MSCP represents community pharmacists practicing in independent, chain and outpatient pharmacies in Michigan.

The objectives of the Society are:

  • to provide an opportunity to share information and increase communication. between community pharmacists, other health care professionals and the public.
  • to develop and conduct programs for maintaining and improving the competence of community pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other supportive personnel.
  • to disseminate information about pharmacy services and rational drug use.
  • to assist members of the Society in achieving economic, educational, governmental and professional goals.
  • to advance the professional image of community pharmacists and promote public awareness of community pharmacy.

Michigan Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP)

MSHP represents health-system pharmacists in Michigan.

The objectives of the Society are to:

  • foster the provision of patient-focused care by the pharmacy profession.
  • develop model standards for patient-focused care which may be used to assess patient care outcomes, including patient satisfaction.
  • provide educational support in preparing pharmacy practitioners.
  • advocate the value of pharmacist contributions to patient care.
  • disseminate information about implementing patient-focused care to pharmacy practitioners.
  • facilitate communication among pharmacists, other health care team members, governmental agencies and the public.
  • promote research to improve the quality of patient-focused care.
  • identify, analyze and evaluate health care trends, and provide leadership in addressing legislative and regulatory initiatives affecting pharmacy practice.
  • promote organizational leadership and membership.

Michigan Society of Pharmacy Technicians (MSPT)

MSPT represents pharmacy technicians in all areas of practice in Michigan.

The mission of the Michigan Society of Pharmacy Technicians is to increase recognition from allied health professionals and the general public; to assist pharmacists in providing patient-focused care; to promote greater use of pharmacy technicians through a system of educational advancement; to foster and encourage interprofessional relations with the state professional association of pharmacists and to establish positive dialogue with pharmacy practitioners; and to establish and maintain guidelines for the use and training of pharmacy technicians.

Student Michigan Pharmacists Association

SMPA represents student pharmacists at the three colleges of pharmacy in Michigan, as well as pharmacy technician students.
