The mission of Michigan Pharmacy Foundation (MPF) is to advance
pharmacy, pharmacy education and research, and to promote pharmacy
practice to the highest level of patient care.
MPF was established as an initiative of Michigan Pharmacists Association in 1992. Directing the fundraising activities and programs of the Foundation is a Board of Trustees, whose members are leaders in Michigan pharmacy.
The Foundation seeks to advance pharmacy through education, practice innovation and research focused on patient care, for the improvement and promotion of public health and public education.
MPF's goals focus on the following areas:
Patient-focused Care
Demonstration projects particularly in community, hospital and long-term care pharmacy
practice, including coordination of care services
Professional and Public Relations
Special projects focused on advancing the professional image of
pharmacists to the general public
Commissioned Studies
Collaborative studies with colleges of pharmacy to advance the professional
and economic aspects of pharmacy practice
Pharmacists' Self-Study Program
Directed self-study program aimed at pharmacists who temporarily
leave active practice for a period of time; special certificate
programs for pharmacists, including self-study
