Join pharmacy professionals in the UP for the annual MPA-Upper Peninsula Division Fall Seminar Nov. 6-7 at the Holiday Inn of Marquette. At the end of this seminar, participants should be able to list agents used in managing or treating analgesia, anxiolysis and delirium in the intensive care unit; identify barriers to effective pain management in the ICU setting; identify current treatment options for insomnia; and describe three highlights of the federal electronic prescriptions for controlled substances rule. Participants should also be able to explain neurotransmitter and brain chemistry in a person who is addicted to drugs or alcohol; describe the requirements for fraud, waste and abuse training for pharmacy providers under Medicare Part D; and identify medications used to treat atrial fibrillation.
