We all know that February in Michigan is generally not pleasant. So, plan on coming in from the cold to attend MPA Annual Convention & Exposition, with special programming targeted toward MSHP members.
During this year’s Annual Convention
on Feb. 25-27, 2011, MSHP will be offering three sessions: two on Friday morning and one on Saturday afternoon. Be sure to look for these sessions when reviewing the list of educational programming
and deciding what programs to attend at the Convention!
During one of the Friday morning sessions, Shawna Kraft, Pharm.D., BCOP, will provide an update on the ever-changing world of oncology, while the other Friday session will discuss the hot topic of risk evaluation mitigation strategy (REMS), given by Justine Coffey, JD, LLM, who is the director of Federal Regulatory Affairs with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Also, back by popular demand are pharmacy pearls topics at Saturday afternoon’s session presented by three different speakers incorporating an array of topics, including infectious diseases (Mike Tiberg, Pharm.D., clinical pharmacy specialist, Munson Medical Center), cardiology (Adam Drzewicki, Pharm.D., clinical pharmacy specialist, Borgess Medical Center) and diabetes (John Jameson, professor, Ferris State University).
In addition, MSHP will host a student luncheon on Saturday afternoon. Student pharmacists are invited to network with their classmates and future colleagues from the three Michigan colleges of pharmacy. Pre-registration is required for this luncheon and onsite registrations will not be accepted. MSHP will also hold a delegate caucus breakfast prior to the House of Delegates Session on Sunday morning. This event is by invitation only.
