Childhood Immunization Rates Increase Over the Past Year
The proportion of children immunized against preventable diseases, such as measles, mumps, rubella and hepatitis A, increased to 91.5 percent in 2010 from 90 percent the previous year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The report dismisses fears that immunization rates may be dropping because of some parents' fears about vaccine safety. These findings are included in results of the CDC’s National Immunization Survey of more than 17,000 households. more
