Basic Disaster Life Support Course to be Held Feb. 2
The Region 2 South Healthcare Coalition is holding a Basic Disaster Life Support Course on Feb. 2 at Wayne County Environmental Health. This six-hour didactic course is designed to develop commonality of approach and language and to improve the care and coordination of response in WMD disaster and public health emergencies. The curriculum includes an overview of the “D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R” paradigm, injuries and responses associated with different types of disasters, an overview of the public health system and the psychosocial aspects of disasters. Once logged in, click on “Training”, then “Basic Disaster Life Support - 2 Feb 2012” in the left menu bar, and then click on “Add a Document,” at which time a new registration form will be presented. Once the form is completed, click either “Submit” buttons located at the top and bottom of the page.
