On Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) and the Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion (DHWP) will be holding the Detroit Asthma Mortality Summit at the Atheneum Hotel and Conference Center.

This gathering of public health and healthcare leaders from the City of Detroit will launch the initiative to reduce Detroit’s asthma burden and improve the quality of life for those with asthma. The Summit is designed as a working meeting to create recommendations for future activities and policy change.

Although the registration deadline was Jan. 23, they are still willing to accept registration from MPA pharmacist members. For a registration form or more information, contact Summit Coordinator Diane Drago at DMSdiane@concentric.net.
