| How Your Pharmacist Can Help Affording Your Medications Changing Perceptions Pharmacy Careers Disease Information Patient Complaints Need a Speaker? |
In this difficult economy, Michigan Pharmacists Association understands that sometimes patients may have trouble affording their medications. That is why pharmacists are ready to help find solutions so that you can continue your therapy.
If you need assistance, ask your pharmacist. Pharmacists can review your medication therapies and determine if there are any lower cost generic alternative and work with your physician to make sure you are receiving the medications you need. Your pharmacy staff will also act as your advocate with your insurance company to make sure your medications are covered. Pharmacists are also knowledgeable about prescription assistance programs. For instance, your pharmacy may be partnered with your local Public Health Department to offer free Tamiflu or Relenza to treat H1N1 for those who are underinsured or uninsured. Ask your pharmacist for details.
Please view this brochure listing different resources to save on prescription costs, as well as contact information for free clinics throughout Michigan that offer free or low-cost medications. Click on the map at the right to see if there is a free clinic in your area.
