Are you looking for ways to give back to your profession? Does patient advocacy interest you? Look no further. MPA has several ways that you can get involved and make a difference.
Phone calls, e-mails and writing letters are a few of the simple ways that you can donate your time to advocate for patients and the pharmacy profession. MPA offers many resources online to assist you in these actions.
There are many other ways to support pharmacy, including legislative visits, inviting your legislator to your pharmacy and donating to Michigan Pharmacy PAC. You can even sign up for annual, quarterly or monthly recurring donations on our Web site! Each of these examples is important in protecting patients and the profession.
In addition to the above, joining the Pharmacy Advocacy Response Team (PART) is a simple way to learn more about getting involved and having your voice heard! You can be a PART of a growing number of pharmacy professionals from all practice settings who recognize the value of being directly involved in advocating for the profession. MPA will make the necessary introductions, equip you with information and resources, and schedule appointments, legislative events or education opportunities. When there is an issue that pertains to your practice setting, we will let you know!
If you are interested in joining PART or learning more about other advocacy opportunities, please contact Amanda Lick, MPA manager of advocacy, governmental and regulatory affairs, at (517) 377-0254 or Amanda@MichiganPharmacists.org.
