Registration is now available online for the MPA Continuing Education Symposium, which will be held Aug. 18-19 in beautiful Traverse City! In addition to offering 10 hours of live continuing education (CE) credit, registrants have the opportunity to participate in a winery tour on Leelanau Peninsula.

The CE Symposium will begin Tuesday, Aug. 18 with registration and continental breakfast with exhibitors. Following a short MPA update, CE programs will be offered through the late afternoon, with short breaks and lunch included. After 4:45 p.m., attendees are free to explore the city or network with other attendees! Traverse City has a wealth of activities available to visitors, including shopping, beaches, galleries, golf, lighthouses, and award-winning wines and talented local chefs.

CE programs will continue on Wednesday, Aug. 19 after breakfast, and conclude at 12:15 p.m. The Leelanau Peninsula winery tour will then begin at 12:45 p.m. Traverse City is fast becoming known for the clean, fresh taste of its wines, which hold their aroma and fruit flavors much more faithfully than those grown in hotter climates. The region made its first international impact with white wines, but is now winning admirers for light French-style reds. It’s also one of the world’s top producers of ice wine, an intensely-flavored dessert wine made from the juice of winter-frozen grapes. Be sure to register for the tour with your CE Symposium registration! The winery tour is open to CE Symposium attendees and guests. A minimum of 15 people must register by Aug. 12 and the winery tour is limited to 20 people.

The following educational topics are being pursued and are subject to change: pain management, immunization update, rheumatoid arthritis treatment, quality improvement, Hepatitis C, stress management, and licensing for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Six hours of CE credit will be awarded on Aug. 18 and four hours on Aug. 19 for a total of 10 hours of live credit being offered.
