Order Your Controlled Substance Inventory List Today

Michigan law requires an annual inventory of controlled substances to be completed no more than 30 days prior to May 1 and no later than 60 days after May 1. Your copy must be submitted to the state between April 1st and June 30th.

Mark Your Calendar for the 2016 MPF Golf Classic in June

Join Michigan Pharmacy Foundation (MPF) for an 18-hole, 4-person scramble! The Foundation’s annual Golf Classic event will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Forest Akers West in Lansing. This fun, unique event offers the opportunity for participants to benefit an organization that supports the profession of pharmacy. In addition to a round of golf, attendees enjoy continental breakfast, lunch at the turn, access to the putting green and practice range, various contests and an awards ceremony. 

Men’s, women’s and mixed team flights are permitted. Individuals may make up their own teams, and each team must submit a completed registration form listing all members. If you sign up as an individual, you will be placed on a team and assigned teammates. 

On or before June 8, fees are $160 per individual registration and $600 per foursome registration. Payments must be received by June 8 in order for early registration discounts to apply. Beginning June 9 through registration onsite, the cost is $175 per individual registration and $700 per foursome registration. Please note that foursome payments must be received at the same time to secure the foursome rate. Last Chance to Complete the Economic Survey or Share it with Your Colleagues!

The 2015 Michigan Pharmacy Economic Survey is available online to pharmacists, student pharmacists and pharmacy technicians for completion. Please take a few minutes to add your perspective anonymously, which will provide pharmacy professionals and employers with important salary and benefit information! Click on the appropriate link below based on your practice status.

In addition, be sure to share the survey with your colleagues. Survey responses must be received by Friday, April 1, 2016. Those who complete the survey in its entirety will be entered into a prize drawing for a gift card. MPA Hosting Annual MPJE Law Review Program on May 21

Fourth-year student pharmacists as well as pharmacists transferring from another state are invited to an exclusive program on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Lansing Community College, West Campus, in Lansing. Join MPA for the Pharmacy Law and Regulatory Review and 2015 Update, which is specifically designed to help fourth-year students achieve a strong understanding of the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE) content and aid prospective pharmacists in preparing for the test. 

The program will be presented by Eric Roath, Pharm.D., MPA director of professional practice. Attendees will also be able to purchase Michigan Pharmacy Law: A Guide to the Statutes and Regulations (7th edition, 2015) at a discounted price of $20. Written by Jesse Vivian, R.Ph., J.D., a professor of pharmacy practice at Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, this publication covers Michigan statutes, administrative rules, the federal Controlled Substances Act and more. 

Please note that pharmacist continuing education will not be awarded for this program. The program is for fourth-year student pharmacists and those pharmacists who are transferring from another state that need to take the law exam only.

Obtain Immunization Certification at the May Training Program in Lansing

MPA hosts several Pharmacy-based Immunization Delivery Programs each year to encourage pharmacists and student pharmacists to gain the knowledge and training necessary to become primary sources of vaccine information and delivery. The first event of 2016 will be held Thursday, May 19, at MPA Headquarters in Lansing, Michigan. Register online  today for this opportunity to expand your practice! 

This training program is composed of two components: a self-study that is completed in advance of the event and the live training. Successful completion of the self-study will result in 12 hours of home study continuing education (CE) credit and successful completion of the live seminar will result in eight hours of live CE credit. Once credit is claimed, statements of credit will be available online within 24 hours on the participant’s CPE Monitor profile.
