Call for Task Force Volunteers

With the leadership of MPA President Amy Smendik, the MPA Executive Board is establishing a task force to review common problems that are in the workplaces of all pharmacy practice settings. The task force will be looking at workplace standards that are reasonable for both the business of pharmacy and for the licensed pharmacy health professionals. The task force will be composed of a mixture of pharmacists, managers and pharmacy technicians from different practice settings. The goal is to have involvement of pharmacists, managers and pharmacy technicians with different responsibilities within the pharmacy. The key to this issue will be the involvement of pharmacy managers/administrators who with their pharmacists have overcome these workplace challenges. The outcome of the task force is expected to be a document that can be used to provide a healthy and safe work environment for the pharmacist and pharmacy technician which ultimately results in improved patient care and safety.

If you have questions or have an interest in this issue and are willing to serve on this task force, please submit your name to Chief Executive Officer Larry Wagenknecht at The Executive Board will be appointing the task force in the near future.
