Completing the Pharmacy Tech Prep Online Program

You and your employer are responsible for the on-the-job training requirements. You will be asked to attest to the fact that you have completed the requirements as determined by your employer when you submit your application for graduation.
  • Taking the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Examination
One of the requirements for graduation from the Pharmacy Tech Prep Online program is successful completion of the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) offered through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). The application to become a certified technician and take the PTCE is done directly through PTCB. You may visit their website at www.PTCB.org for information about how to take the examination. Pharmacy Services Inc. is not involved in the examination process. All fees for the exam must be paid directly to PTCB and are not included as part of the Pharmacy Tech Prep Online enrollment fee.
  • Obtaining a Pharmacy Technician License in Michigan
After you have passed the PTCB examination, you will need to apply for your Michigan pharmacy technician license. This process is through Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA). The application for a pharmacy technician license can be found on LARA’s website under Pharmacy or by clicking here. Please refer to LARA for all questions about the licensing process.
